Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of riads in Marrakech, and honestly, most of them try way too hard to be Instagram-perfect. But Riad Nyla? This place actually gets it right. Tucked away on Derb Tizougarine in the Dar El Bacha neighborhood – which, by the way, is brilliant because you’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa but far enough to escape the tourist circus – it feels like stumbling into someone’s gorgeous family home. The entrance is one of those classic medina doorways that gives you zero hint of what’s inside, but once you step through, you’re hit with this incredible sense of calm. The central courtyard has this fountain that’s not obnoxiously loud (you know how some riads have those splashing waterfalls that make you need the bathroom every five minutes), and the tilework is absolutely stunning without being flashy about it.

What really sets this place apart is the wellness angle – and I mean genuine wellness, not just a fancy word slapped on the brochure. The spa treatments are incredible, honestly some of the best I’ve had in Morocco, and the staff actually knows what they’re doing with traditional hammam techniques. You’ll want to book the argan oil massage if you can swing it. The rooms are spacious by medina standards, and here’s something I really appreciated: they’ve managed to preserve all the authentic architectural details while making sure the WiFi actually works and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. The rooftop terrace gives you those classic Atlas Mountain views everyone talks about, but it’s also perfect for breakfast because it catches the morning light just right – not too hot, not too shaded.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience real Marrakech life. You’re a five-minute walk from the Bahia Palace, and the little alley gets you to the main souks without having to navigate the craziest tourist routes. There’s this tiny café around the corner – I think it’s called Café des Épices – where locals actually drink their morning coffee, and the bread guy comes by every morning around 7 AM with the best khubz you’ll taste. The only thing to know is that finding it the first time can be tricky (classic medina problem), but the riad sends someone to meet you at a landmark if you’re arriving by taxi, which is a nice touch. The whole experience feels effortless in a way that’s rare for Morocco – you get all the authentic charm and cultural immersion without the usual hassles that come with staying in the old city.

  This is a lovely hotel/riad. Such beautiful interior and exceptionally clean. The staff are very helpful. Lovely choice of breakfast and fantastic location. There are 2 parts to the villa, we were in the second and we did have some difficulty getting hold of someone at reception when needed.

  The Riad is beautiful and was spotlessly clean. The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond. The breakfast was also lovely, I would highly recommend having this on the rooftop terrace! A special mention to Jamal, Siad and Mustafa for being so welcoming, informative and helpful throughout our stay.

  I completely fell in love with the structure and decoration of Riad Nyla. We were also very well received by the receptionist the night we arrived, he helped us find a parking spot and took all our bags to the Riad. He gave us all the information, even though it was no longer his working hours. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional. The spa is beautiful and relaxing. We had lunch there too, and I highly recommend it, the food is delicious. All the staff were super attentive. The Riad is located right in the center of Marrakech, very well located. Super close to El Bacha café. Riad 10/10. I would definitely stay there again.
  
  What could be improved: I loved everything. I didn't like that I didn't stay there longer. So I have to go back now.
