You’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Marrakech‘s medina, but on a quieter street where you can actually sleep at night. The souks are maybe a three-minute walk, and you can reach the main square in about five minutes if you know the shortcuts (which the staff will gladly show you). What I love is that you get the full medina experience without feeling like you’re camping in the middle of a marketplace.

RIAD SHAJARA has that authentic Moroccan architecture you’re hoping for — think traditional tadelakt walls, intricate tilework, and a central courtyard that becomes your personal oasis. The rooms are arranged around this courtyard in classic riad style, and honestly, each one feels different from the next. You know what struck me most? The attention to traditional details without sacrificing comfort. The staff here actually lives and breathes hospitality — they’re not just going through the motions, and you can tell they genuinely want you to fall in love with their city.

The continental breakfast is served in the courtyard when weather permits, and it’s one of those simple pleasures that sets the tone for your entire day. Fresh Moroccan bread, local honey, olives, cheese — nothing fancy, but everything tastes better when you’re eating it surrounded by traditional architecture under the morning sun.   We had an amazing time staying at Riad Shajara and were looked after extremely well by Ahmed and his team. The Riad is a very beautiful and luxurious place to stay in Marrakesh. It is set in an excellent location for visiting the main tourist attractions. The facilities were excellent and the rooftop area was a fantastic place to relax. The breakfast was delicious, with an excellent traditional selection.
  
  Ahmed was extremely helpful, kind and patient and took the time to answer our questions, make recommendations and organise activities for us.
  
  We cannot recommend Riad Shajara enough! We would definitely stay again.

  We were greeted by a lovely man who welcomed us and helped us to our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was delicious and plentiful, leaving us beyond content and satiated for a busy day exploring the medina.
