Riad Sidi Mimoune & Spa Overview
You know what really caught me off guard about Riad Sidi Mimoune & Spa? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on Sidi Mbarek street, it’s like someone just hit the mute button on Marrakech. I mean, you’re still hearing the city – the call to prayer from nearby mosques, the occasional motorbike puttering down the narrow derb – but it’s suddenly this soft background hum instead of the full-volume chaos of the medina. The riad sits in this quieter pocket of the old city, which honestly took me by surprise since I was expecting to be right in the thick of tourist central. The staff actually helped me navigate those winding alleys the first couple times I ventured out, because let’s be real, Google Maps is basically useless once you’re deep in the medina’s maze.
What really makes this place special isn’t just the gorgeous traditional architecture (though those zellige tiles and carved cedar ceilings are pretty spectacular) – it’s how they’ve managed to keep that authentic riad feeling while making sure everything actually works. The plumbing’s solid, the wifi reaches every corner, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which… well, if you’ve stayed in some of the older riads around here, you’ll appreciate that. The spa treatments are where they really shine though. I had this argan oil massage that used locally sourced products, and the hammam experience was the real deal – not some watered-down tourist version. The masseuse actually taught me how to use the black soap properly, which was this sweet little detail that made it feel more like a cultural exchange than just a service.
The rooftop terrace becomes this magical spot around sunset when the Atlas Mountains turn purple in the distance, and you can watch the storks nesting on the nearby mosque minaret. Breakfast up there is pretty fantastic too – they do this amazing msemen (Moroccan pancakes) that’s way better than what you’ll find at most hotels, and the fresh orange juice is squeezed right in front of you. I’d recommend asking for a room on the upper level if you can – the courtyard rooms are beautiful but can get a bit echo-y when other guests are socializing downstairs. The location means you’re about a 10-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa square, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the hustle and bustle every time you want to step outside. Plus, there’s this little family-run café just around the corner that serves the best mint tea in the neighborhood – definitely ask the front desk about it, they’ll point you in the right direction.

Relaxing stay in the heart of Marrakesh – Ramon from Brazil – 13 June 2025 (10/10)
Rooms super comfortable, delicious breakfast, and the staff is amazing! They’re all very kind and ready to help you.
I had a problem with the wifi connection in my room but it was resolved very quickly by the amazing front desk team. This is how an excellent service and attention to guests’ needs should be.
What could be improved: Nothing to add hereGreat riad in an amazing location with comfortable rooms and fantastic staff – Nadya from Russia – 20 May 2025 (10/10)
Wonderful little hotel – awesome location just outside the Medina walls, fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, and my favorite was the terrace on the very top.

What could be improved: Rooms were a bit darkGreat time, great staff, great food. – Connor from United Kingdom – 2 March 2025 (10/10)
The riad had a lot of character and interesting decor. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, Abdul was very helpful and did a fantastic job making us feel welcome as well as all the other wonderful staff. Also the food was amazing with very generous portion sizes.
What could be improved: Don’t like the fact there was a slide lock on the outside of the door but I appreciate that’s the style there.Amazing stay – Sihame from Morocco – 28 January 2025 (10/10)

We were given a doggy bag with a bit of breakfast as we had to leave really early. The boy doing the night shift is the kindest person everzHome away from home – Huma from United States – 28 December 2024 (8/10)
Great location, staff is excellent and goes out of the way to be helpful. Breakfast is served everyday with love . Feels like you’re home.
Superb – Matthew from Canada – 3 December 2024 (9/10)
Staff were great! Room was very comfortable.
What could be improved: You have to carry your bags about 5-8 minutes to arrive at the riad and there isn’t enough signage to find the place—I had to ask 2 people nearby. The rooms are not very sound proof but lovely nonetheless.Friendly and welcoming – Anne from Australia – 28 November 2024 (10/10)
Super friendly staff, went out of their way to make our late arrival comfortable, including holding dinner for us. Comfortable stay with beautiful decor. Great location and friendly kitten to play with!
What could be improved: Like many riads, the entry was down a passageway with construction, so a little awkward with wheelie bags but just something to be aware of, not a major issueExceptional – Ricardo from Portugal – 8 November 2024 (10/10)
Our stay at Sidi Mimoune Riad was an absolute delight, and it was the exceptional staff that truly made our experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to ensure that we felt welcomed and well cared for. Aicha was incredibly kind, offering helpful advice on things to do around Marrakesh, while Abu was always attentive, ensuring that our needs were met with a smile. Mamoud’s warmth and cheerful personality made every interaction feel like we were truly guests in their home.
We had requested a quiet room, and the team thoughtfully arranged for us to stay in a spacious, peaceful room. It was the perfect escape after a day exploring the vibrant city.
The Riad itself is beautifully designed with traditional Moroccan touches, creating a tranquil oasis in the heart of Marrakesh. The location couldn’t be better: just a short 15-20 minute walk to the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa and other key attractions, yet far enough to avoid the noise and crowds, allowing for a peaceful retreat.
We also had dinner at the Riad, and it was absolutely delicious. The couscous with chicken and vegetables was perfectly cooked and offered a generous portion, ideal for two.
One of the standout features of Sidi Mimoune Riad is its perfect balance of cost and value. The level of comfort, service, and attention to detail we experienced felt far beyond what we expected for the price. It's truly excellent value for money — especially considering the location, the beauty of the Riad, and the remarkable staff.
From the warm welcome with Moroccan tea and faqqas to the thoughtful service throughout our stay, everything about our time at Sidi Mimoune was exceptional. We can’t recommend this Riad enough. Five stars all the way!
