Riad Wazani Square & SPA Overview

You know what hits you first when you step into Riad Wazani Square & SPA? The silence. I mean, you’re literally on Rue des Banques in the heart of Marrakech’s medina – normally that would mean chaos and noise bouncing off ancient walls – but somehow this place feels like you’ve slipped through a portal into this incredibly peaceful courtyard. The traditional riad architecture does what it’s supposed to do here, creating this cool, calm center while the city buzzes just beyond the heavy wooden doors.

The location is honestly perfect if you actually want to experience Marrakech rather than just Instagram it. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square (though trust me, you’ll hear the evening call to prayer from the rooftop anyway), and all those tiny souks branch out around you like a maze. But here’s the thing locals know – Derb Zaari is one of those quieter medina streets where you can actually walk without getting run over by motorbikes every thirty seconds. The spa part isn’t just a fancy add-on either; after spending a day navigating the medina’s sensory overload, that hammam feels like a necessity rather than a luxury. The staff seems to get that most guests are slightly overwhelmed by their first day in Marrakech, so they’re genuinely helpful about things like which taxis to trust and where to eat without paying tourist prices.

What really sets this place apart – and probably explains that 8.9 rating – is how it balances authenticity with actual comfort. The rooms have that traditional Moroccan aesthetic (lots of intricate tilework and carved wood), but you’ll also find reliable WiFi and air conditioning that actually works, which honestly isn’t a given in medina riads. The rooftop terrace gives you those classic Atlas Mountain views everyone talks about, and it’s particularly gorgeous during sunset when the light hits the Koutoubia minaret just right. Fair warning though: if you’re here during peak season (basically October through April), book the spa treatments early because they fill up fast. The only minor downside I noticed was that the narrow medina streets mean no car access – you’ll be wheeling your luggage through cobblestone alleys for about fifty meters from where your taxi drops you off. But that’s true for pretty much every authentic riad in the medina, and honestly, it’s part of the charm once you embrace it.

Reviews of Riad Wazani Square & SPA

  • Boujee Riad! – Kirrat from United Kingdom – 29 June 2025 (9/10)

Location is excellent, just off the square.
Breakfast was excellent- great variety each day including fruit and yogurt.
The Spa services were excellent! I had a massage by Sassi (hopefully spelt her name right) and it was top notch!
    All staff were lovely
    Very clean!

What could be improved: We had dinner once at the Riad, it wasn’t great, the chicken skewers were dry and hard.
Lightning in the room could have been better.

  • Perfect place for chilling and forgetting about work for a while. – Saad from Morocco – 19 June 2025 (10/10)

People friendly, good vibe, clean pool, cozy rooftop, tasty breakfast ,perfect location.

What could be improved: It will be better if it was a small fridges in room and also lower light in room and noise isolation in doors.

  • Exceptional – Stephanie from United States – 14 June 2025 (10/10)

Perfect from beginning to end. I would never stay anywhere else in Marrakech — nowhere could be better!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Cute, good location, smelled so good! – Shikha from United States – 2 June 2025 (10/10)

I had a very short stay but everything was great and it smelled so good! Solo traveler in a single room on the first floor. For my duration, not bad but it was a pretty small room. Comfortable and met my needs. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful and breakfast was good. Good location to square and the popular pickup spot for excursions (cafe de France).

What could be improved: On first floor so you hear a lot of foot traffic. Earbuds help drown out any noise.

  • Unforgettable – Sinead from Ireland – 14 May 2025 (9/10)

Super friendly staff, perfect location, amazing rooftop and tasty breakfasts

What could be improved: Food finished (lunch) earlier than we thought during weekdays

What could be improved: Room was small with no natural light

  • Absolutely beautiful ! – Elizabeth from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful rooms. Really friendly and helpful staff. Excellent hammam and massages. It had a very serene and peaceful feel to it and smelt wonderful!
Breakfast on the roof was amazing.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Amazingly pretty and quiet little Riad. – Akua from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (10/10)

This Riad is stunning and amazingly breathtaking. Everything about it was divine. The attention to detail was second to none and all for a good price too.

Not only was the property of high quality but the complementary breakfast was top notch and it was really close to the square- but not at alll noisy. I was surprised by how quiet
    it was.

I'm trying to think of negatives, but really there aren't any. I will defo be staying here again.
