Riad Wow Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of riads across Marrakech, and Riad Wow actually lives up to its cheeky name. The first thing that hits you when you walk through that heavy wooden door on Jbel Lakhdar street is the temperature drop – it’s like stepping into a cave, but in the best possible way. The traditional courtyard setup does exactly what it’s supposed to do, keeping things cool while the medina bakes outside. You know what surprised me? How quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the medina, maybe a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa (though honestly, who’s counting when you’re wandering those twisted alleys), but the thick walls just swallow up all that market chaos.
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star riad – not huge, but thoughtfully put together with those gorgeous tadelakt walls that feel smooth as silk under your fingertips. The bed was actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in these traditional places where sometimes style trumps sleep. What I really appreciated was the attention to details that matter when you’re dealing with medina life. The WiFi works throughout (crucial when you’re trying to navigate back through those maze-like souks), and they’ve got proper water pressure in the showers. Small things, but trust me, after a day of haggling in the markets and dodging motorbikes in narrow alleyways, you want a decent shower.
The rooftop terrace is where this place really shines though – you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the view over the medina’s rooftops at sunset is honestly something else. The staff here gets it too; they’re not hovering, but they know the area inside and out. When I asked about avoiding the tourist traps for dinner, they pointed me toward this tiny place tucked away near the Saadian Tombs that I never would have found on my own. The breakfast spread isn’t elaborate, but the fresh orange juice and local pastries hit the spot before heading out to explore. I’d say the only real downside is that R’mila can get pretty busy during peak season – you’ll hear some street noise during the day, but it quiets down significantly after the shops close. With an 8.9 rating, this place clearly knows what it’s doing, and honestly, for the price point and location, you’re getting genuine riad character without the stuffiness of some of the more expensive options in Marrakech.

Amazing place , fantastic staff. Authentic Riad experience – Ian from United Kingdom – 27 January 2025 (10/10)
I could not fault RIAD Wow in anyway. We had the most amazing stay, the roof top bar was great our room was beautiful but what made our stay memorable were the amazing staff , who were both helpful and attentive, especially Mohammed on front desk who gave us a couple of excellent restaurant recommendations…. Better known as Simo with his upside down badge.
What could be improved: Nothing negative to addWould definitely return , great location great staff great facilities. – Stephen from Ireland – 27 January 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful clean property, staff were soo nice and helpful.
What could be improved: The bar kept running out of beer everyday, that’s the only fault I have.Pretty good, and despite minor lapses, I would stay there again. – Alan from United Arab Emirates – 23 December 2024 (8/10)
Location is close to where you would want to be. Staff are friendly and helpful but don't always anticipate guest needs in advance. Our room was beautiful.
What could be improved: Breakfast could be better handled with a range of juices, cereals etc.
Evening dining – it is/was cold in the restaurant and staff had to be asked to light gas fires and move closer to us.Fabulous – Miriam from Romania – 29 November 2024 (10/10)
Wonderful staff, central position, the spa, impecabile cleanliness. Wholeheartedly recommended!
