You know what hit me first about Riad Zehra? The silence. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa, but once you slip through that heavy wooden door on Derb Chtouka, it’s like someone turned the volume down on all of Marrakech. The courtyard – honestly, it’s one of those moments where you just stop and think “okay, this is why I came to Morocco.”

The thing about staying in the Kasbah is that you’re basically living in a slice of history, and Riad Zehra gets that balance right between authentic and comfortable. The rooms have these gorgeous zellige tiles that catch the light just so, and the beds are actually comfortable (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in traditional riads). What I loved was how the staff – particularly this guy Hassan who seems to know everyone in the neighborhood – would casually drop suggestions about which hammam to try or where to find the best tajines without the tourist markup. You’ll walk past at least three carpet sellers on your way in, but they get used to seeing you and stop the hard sell after day two.

The rooftop is where you’ll probably spend your evenings, watching the Atlas Mountains fade into silhouette while the call to prayer echoes across the medina. It’s not huge, but there’s something perfect about sipping mint tea up there as the temperature finally drops and the city starts to breathe again. The breakfast spread is solid – fresh bread, local honey, and oranges that actually taste like oranges – served in that gorgeous central courtyard with the fountain gurgling away. One small thing: the wifi is decent in the common areas but gets spotty in some rooms, so don’t plan on streaming Netflix from bed. Also, like most riads, the walls are thick but not soundproof, so you’ll hear your neighbors if they’re having enthusiastic conversations, but it’s never been disruptive. The location means you’re a five-minute walk to Saadian Tombs and maybe ten minutes to the spice souks, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic. Honestly, for the price point and that perfect 10 rating, Riad Zehra feels like one of those places that reminds you why you fell in love with travel in the first place.

  Our stay at Riad Zehra was amazing! The place is located in a very quiet part of Kasbah in Marrakesh, the rooms and bathrooms are super clean, it has all the amenities you need and even a swimming pool in the lobby and a cozy terrace! The team was very kind and caring. It was an honor to be the first guests ever. We will definitely be back!!

  L’accueil a été chaleureux dès mon arrivée, le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours souriant et disponible.
  La chambre était propre, confortable et très bien équipée, avec une literie de qualité. J’ai particulièrement apprécié le calme des lieux et la propreté irréprochable.
  
  Le petit déjeuner était copieux et varié, avec des produits frais et de qualité.

  Riad Zehra is immaculately clean, with every corner of the property maintained to the highest standards. The design is a stunning fusion of classic Moroccan architecture and stylish modern touches. Intricate zellige tilework, elegant lanterns, and warm wooden finishes are complemented by sleek bathrooms, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful details throughout. It’s clear that great care has gone into every element of the decor and layout.
  
  Our room was spacious, tranquil, and beautifully appointed — the perfect sanctuary after a day exploring the souks. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens fresh and luxurious, and the overall ambiance peaceful and inviting.
  
  What truly sets Riad Zehra apart, however, is the people. The staff were simply wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making us feel at home. From the welcoming mint tea on arrival to their helpful local tips and thoughtful service throughout our stay, every interaction was a pleasure. They made us feel like honored guests and friends all at once.
  
  We loved starting our mornings with a delicious traditional breakfast on the rooftop terrace, enjoying the peaceful views over the city. Evenings on the rooftop were equally magical, with the call to prayer echoing softly in the background as the sun set over Marrakech.
  
  Riad Zehra is a rare find — authentic yet fresh, luxurious yet grounded, and above all, truly welcoming. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler in Morocco, this riad offers the perfect balance of tradition, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

  As a new riad, I felt this location was great. the rooms where really pleasant and clean and inside the riad, everything is new. But The thing that stands out the most and makes this such a good place to stay is the staff and their willingness to help. help with making reservations on the things i wanted to do. cleaning the rooms right away and anything i wanted i got. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. This I felt was one of the besst stays so far and i will stay here again. special thanks to Karim.

  Highly recommend.Karim was very helpful and kind.He welcomed us with Moroccon tea and cookies.We had a traditional Moroccon meal in the evening .Morning Breakfast was also nice. Riad was very clean and tidy throughout.

  Mi estancia en este Riad fue simplemente mágica. Desde el primer momento, el personal nos recibió con una calidez y amabilidad que superó todas nuestras expectativas. Siempre dispuestos a ayudar con una sonrisa, nos hicieron sentir como en casa en todo momento.
  El ambiente del Riad es encantador, con una decoración tradicional marroquí que transmite tranquilidad y autenticidad. Cada rincón tenía su encanto propio, perfecto para relajarse tras un día explorando la ciudad.
  Pero sin duda, uno de los aspectos que más nos enamoró fue la comida. La experiencia culinaria fue extraordinaria: sabores auténticos, platos preparados con esmero y una explosión de aromas que nos hizo enamorarnos de la gastronomía marroquí. Desde los tajines hasta los dulces típicos, todo fue una delicia.
  Recomendaría este Riad a cualquiera que busque vivir la verdadera esencia de Marrakech con un servicio excepcional y una experiencia gastronómica para recordar.
