Royal Deluxe Gold – Marrakech, Luxe Pool View Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Royal Deluxe Gold? The name makes it sound like some over-the-top tourist trap, but honestly, it’s actually one of those places that gets the balance right between luxury and feeling real. I mean, you’re staying in what’s essentially a duplex apartment in the Pearl Garden complex on Route de Casablanca – which, by the way, is perfect if you want to be close to the action but not right in the medina chaos. The pool view rooms are where you want to be, trust me on this one. I’ve stayed in the garden-facing ones too, and while they’re quieter, there’s something about watching the sunrise hit the water while you’re having your morning coffee that just works.
The whole setup feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a hotel, if that makes sense. The duplex layout gives you actual space to spread out – downstairs you’ve got this living area that opens right onto the pool terrace, and upstairs the bedroom has these big windows that let in all that gorgeous Moroccan light. Check-in was smooth (they speak excellent English and French, obviously), and the staff actually knows the neighborhood – like, when I asked about getting to Jemaa el-Fnaa without dealing with the main tourist route, they directed me through some back streets that saved me twenty minutes and a lot of hassle. The Route de Casablanca location is clutch because you’re maybe fifteen minutes from the medina by petit taxi, but you can also walk to some excellent local restaurants that most tourists never find. There’s this little place about two blocks away where locals go for tagine – no sign, just ask anyone on the street for “chez Mohammed.”
What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that actually matter. The AC works properly (crucial in summer), there’s reliable wifi throughout, and the bathroom has decent water pressure – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many “luxury” places in Marrakech mess this up. The pool area gets busy around 3 PM when everyone’s escaping the afternoon heat, but mornings and evenings it’s pretty peaceful. Parking is included and secure, which is huge if you’re renting a car to explore the Atlas Mountains. I’ll be honest, the breakfast isn’t anything special – it’s fine, but you’re better off walking five minutes to the café near the roundabout where they make proper Moroccan bread. The 9.3 rating isn’t inflated either; this place just consistently delivers on what it promises without trying too hard to impress you with unnecessary extras.

What could be improved: Niets!Polite host but apartment needs cleaning, broken toilet doors, bring your own toilet paper – Wisam from Sweden – 14 May 2025 (5/10)
Nice host, very polite and welcoming. Apartment was modern and the terasse was nice. Pool were good and clean.
What could be improved: We ran out of toiletpaper, only 2 small toilet paper rolls in the whole apartment when we arrived (6 persons). No waterhose for cleaning in the toilet so we needed toilet paper but we had to wait several hours before we got 3 rolls. The next day we needed more toilet paper and it took another 4 hours to get 2 rolls. There were no face tissues in the apartment so we had to use toilet paper for that too. Towels were not clean and smelled bad. Wasching maschine in really bad condition and was very dirty and smelly. Kitchen stuff was dirty, glasses, spoons, forks and plates were all dirty and had stains of old food on them. Toilet door on the upper floor got jammed when i was inside, i could not get out. We had to push very hard and it took about 10 minutes, DONT CLOSE OR LOCK THAT DOOR or you wont get out. If a child is inside we will not be able to put so much force on the handle to come out. Toilet down stairs not lock able. Shower outlet was a little electrified, i got small shocks while showering.Exceptional – Said from Morocco – 13 January 2025 (10/10)
