Square Appart Overview
You know what struck me first about Square Appart? The address alone tells you everything – Rue Bab Agnaou is literally the street that leads to one of the most famous gates into Marrakech’s old city, and honestly, you can’t get more central than that without actually sleeping in Jemaa el-Fnaa square (which, trust me, you don’t want to do). I mean, I’ve stayed in a bunch of places in the Medina over the years, and location-wise, this one just makes sense. You’re close enough to dive into the chaos whenever you want, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with constant drum circles at 2 AM.
The apartment setup is actually perfect for Marrakech – it’s got that traditional riad feel with modern touches that don’t feel forced or touristy. The 4-star rating is spot-on because it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything works properly, which honestly is more than you can say for a lot of places in the Medina. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, too – they’ll point you toward the little bakery that locals actually use (not the one that charges tourist prices) and they understand that sometimes you need directions that go beyond “turn left at the carpet shop” since there are literally dozens of carpet shops. What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole key situation – navigating these narrow streets can be tricky when you’re coming back late, and they’ve got it figured out so you’re not standing around looking lost with your phone flashlight.
The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s one of those places where the small stuff is handled well – decent water pressure (crucial in Morocco), air conditioning that actually works during those brutal summer afternoons, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. The building itself has character without being falling apart, if you know what I mean. You’re still getting that authentic Marrakech experience with the call to prayer echoing off the walls and the general hum of medina life, but you’ve got a proper base to retreat to. Plus, being on Rue Bab Agnaou means you can walk to Saadian Tombs in about three minutes, and you’re perfectly positioned for exploring both the souks and the mellah district. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s got that sweet spot of being authentically Moroccan without sacrificing the practical stuff that makes a trip actually enjoyable.

Reviews of Square Appart
Great appartment at an even Greater location – Saania from Spain – 20 May 2025 (9/10)
We were a group of 4 (2 couples) and it was just perfect. The location is unbeatable. In Marrakech, We saw that a lot of people hated their way to the accommodation because it went through narrow shady streets, but this was absolutely different. It was right on the main road of the market and the Jmaa al Fnaa just a stone's throw away. I would give it full marks just for the location. All restaurants and the entire main market were conveniently closeby and worked so well for us for the tour hotel pick ups.
The breakfast was deliciously filling and we enjoyed it with a scenic view of the market and the closeby city.
The beds, linens, bathroom, sofas, kitchen and everything was super neat and clean. The beds were hard, but exactly the way we like them. The rooms are super duper modern and everything feels new. A Truly comfortable stay with huge Almirah and ample space in the apartment to walk and TV in the room along with the living area. The staff was super helpful and understood and complied with our requests and needs whenever we asked for it. Would love to come back to this place.
What could be improved: A little communication gap with the staff as we did not speak arabic or english. But they were still super understanding and helpful.Comfort at top location – Plamen from Bulgaria – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
The apartment is at super location, very clean and with all necessities. Bathroom very modern. Stuff is helping!
What could be improved: It could be a bit noisy during eveningsExceptional – Stefan from Switzerland – 6 May 2025 (10/10)
Nice breakfast on the terrace, friendly staff and great location.
What could be improved: Poorly soundproofedExceptional – Salmaan from United Kingdom – 5 May 2025 (10/10)
very hospitable and accommodating; excellent location (centrally located); everything clean and new
What could be improved: n/aA perfect accommodation at the center of Marrakesh!!! – Julian from United States – 5 May 2025 (10/10)
Steps away from the main square, delish breakfast, modern amenities, and Badr was an excellent host who took care of everything that included our important parcel from Rabat!
What could be improved: Nothing really so we stayed here again!A score of 10 for us! We'll definitely highly recommend to our friends visiting Marrakesh!!! – Julian from United States – 5 May 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location close to the main square; modern amenities that met our needs; very attentive, caring and accommodating host.
What could be improved: We're from Manhattan and are used to city sounds. Ear plugs may help guests who may be more sensitive.Great location and friendly helpful staff with great breakfast on the terrace. – Gordon from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
A well equipped clean apartment
What could be improved: Our bedroom window soundproofing was very poor so didn’t sleep well up to 2am due to outside ally noise.Amazing night in the heart of Marrakech – Abu from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (10/10)
Great communication, requested that I call him after we arrive at the airport and he would talk to the driver so that he can collect us from outside the market entrance. Cars can only go up to a certain point and it was about a 10 minutes walk. Even with 6 children it wasn’t bad, gave us a moment to soak up the surroundings. It’s a real kicker. There are shops right outside the apartment and in terms of pricing I found them better value than if you were to walk 5 mins further into the square and beyond. Walk around, compare and see for yourself.
Breakfast spread on the terrace was the cherry on top.
Great thanks Badr who made our stay perfect.
What could be improved: Unfortunately there was a bit of a drainage smell, however that seems to be a common theme everywhere and it sort of comes and goes, so have an aerosol spray handy.Very nice – Florian from Romania – 24 February 2025 (8/10)
Good location, great breakfast and very clean.
What could be improved: There was a musty smell in the bathroom.Marrakech trip – Helen from Ireland – 12 February 2025 (10/10)
Great location, fab bteakfast on roof top, lovely staff.
What could be improved: Nothing
