Square Appart sits right in the middle of all that, and honestly, the moment you step inside, there’s this nice contrast between the buzz outside and the calm you find within. It’s not a flashy place, and that’s sort of the point. It feels like somewhere a local might actually recommend, not just a name on a booking site.

Location & Neighborhood

The location score here is 9.8, and I mean, you can feel why the second you look out the window. You’re a short walk from Jemaa el-Fna square, the souks are practically on your doorstep, and Bab Agnaou — one of the most iconic gates in the old city — is right there. Couples especially seem to love it for this reason, and it makes sense. There’s something genuinely romantic about being this embedded in the Medina without feeling like you’re roughing it. You can wander out at dusk, grab a mint tea from a street stall, and be back in your room in minutes.

The Rooms

The apartments here are what set Square Appart apart from your standard riad or guesthouse. You actually get proper space — a real living area, a kitchen setup, room to breathe. It’s the kind of place that works well if you’re staying a few nights and want to feel settled rather than just passing through. The style is clean and unfussy, which I appreciated. After a day of navigating the medina’s winding alleys, coming back to somewhere that feels calm and uncluttered is genuinely welcome.

Breakfast

Breakfast here covers a lot of ground — continental, vegetarian, halal options, and even a grab-and-go setup if you’re the type who wants to be out the door early. The buffet format means you’re not waiting around, which is actually ideal when you’ve got a full day of exploring planned. Honestly, the halal and vegetarian options being standard rather than an afterthought is a nice touch. It signals that the place has thought about who’s actually staying here, which you notice more than you’d expect.

Why Guests Love It

With a guest rating of 9.4, Square Appart is clearly doing something right. I think it comes down to the combination of location and the apartment-style setup — you get the full Marrakech experience without sacrificing comfort or space. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone, and that restraint actually works in its favor. If you’re visiting Marrakech as a couple or even solo, and you want to be genuinely inside the Medina rather than hovering around the edges of it, this place makes a strong case for itself. It’s the kind of stay you’d tell a friend about — not because it blew your mind, but because it just worked, really well.

• Great appartment at an even Greater location – Saania from Spain – 20 May 2025 (9/10)

  We were a group of 4 (2 couples) and it was just perfect. The location is unbeatable. In Marrakech, We saw that a lot of people hated their way to the accommodation because it went through narrow shady streets, but this was absolutely different. It was right on the main road of the market and the Jmaa al Fnaa just a stone's throw away. I would give it full marks just for the location. All restaurants and the entire main market were conveniently closeby and worked so well for us for the tour hotel pick ups.
  The breakfast was deliciously filling and we enjoyed it with a scenic view of the market and the closeby city.
  The beds, linens, bathroom, sofas, kitchen and everything was super neat and clean. The beds were hard, but exactly the way we like them. The rooms are super duper modern and everything feels new. A Truly comfortable stay with huge Almirah and ample space in the apartment to walk and TV in the room along with the living area. The staff was super helpful and understood and complied with our requests and needs whenever we asked for it. Would love to come back to this place.
  
  What could be improved: A little communication gap with the staff as we did not speak arabic or english. But they were still super understanding and helpful.

  Great communication, requested that I call him after we arrive at the airport and he would talk to the driver so that he can collect us from outside the market entrance. Cars can only go up to a certain point and it was about a 10 minutes walk. Even with 6 children it wasn’t bad, gave us a moment to soak up the surroundings. It’s a real kicker. There are shops right outside the apartment and in terms of pricing I found them better value than if you were to walk 5 mins further into the square and beyond. Walk around, compare and see for yourself.
  Breakfast spread on the terrace was the cherry on top.

  What could be improved: Unfortunately there was a bit of a drainage smell, however that seems to be a common theme everywhere and it sort of comes and goes, so have an aerosol spray handy.
