Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Marrakech, but this little studio on Rue de la Liberté really surprised me. You know how Gueliz can feel a bit sterile compared to the medina? Well, Studio chic à Gueliz Carre Eden actually manages to have some personality while keeping that modern comfort you’re probably craving after a day of navigating the souks.

The space itself is honestly well thought out – I mean, it’s a studio so you’re not getting a massive suite, but whoever designed this place actually gets how people travel. There’s proper storage (thank god), decent lighting for those inevitable “getting ready to go out” moments, and the kitchenette is more functional than you’d expect. What really got me was the attention to small details – good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually work, and reliable wifi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I could mention. The whole vibe is sort of minimalist-chic without being cold, if that makes sense.

Here’s what I really appreciate about the location though – you’re right in the heart of Gueliz, which means you can walk to decent restaurants (the French place around the corner is solid), hit up Carré Eden mall when you need actual shopping, and still grab a taxi to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes. The street itself isn’t too crazy with traffic, so you’re not dealing with constant honking, but there’s enough going on that you feel connected to the city. Honestly, after spending time in some of the riads in the medina where you can feel completely cut off from modern life, this hits a nice middle ground. You get the authentic Marrakech experience during the day, then come back to a space that feels familiar and comfortable. The building’s pretty quiet too – I was worried about noise from other guests or the street, but it wasn’t an issue. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the whole setup just works. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but for the price point and the 4-star rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

En soirée, un gars est venu nous réclamer 30 dhs disant que c'est lui qui loue la rue et qu'on doit payer pour la place occupée!!!! Je n'avais pas assez le temps pour appeler la police, donc j'ai payé pour ne pas avoir de problème avec lui.

  The apartment was absolutely spotless, and the host was super friendly and helpful.
  The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city, but also super quiet and peaceful.
  There’s even parking guarded by security personnel 24 hours a day, is available directly in front of the palace, NOT INCLUDED!! in the booking price, of course.
  And the streets are so quiet, it’s perfect for a peaceful night.
  
  What could be improved: Despite the value we received, the cost of this booking was somewhat higher than other bookings we discovered after making the reservation. We thought it would be slightly cheaper for a weekend in October, which would have increased our level of satisfaction. Apart from that, everything was cool.
