Look, I’ll be straight with you about Tempoo Hotel Marrakech – it’s one of those places that gets the basics right without trying too hard to impress. Tucked away in Hivernage on the corner of Rue Abou Bakr Seddiq and Omar Ben El Khattab (honestly, just tell your taxi driver “Hivernage near the Théâtre Royal”), this adults-only spot feels refreshingly calm compared to the medina madness just a few kilometers away. The building itself is pretty understated – you know what I mean, not one of those over-the-top riads with every surface covered in zellige tiles. It’s got this clean, modern Moroccan vibe that actually works better than it sounds on paper.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve figured out the noise situation. Hivernage can get surprisingly busy, especially when there’s something happening at the nearby Palais des Congrès, but the rooms facing the interior courtyard stay pretty quiet. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too – not just the usual tourist recommendations, but they’ll point you toward that little café on Avenue Mohammed V where locals actually go for breakfast, or tell you which hammam in the medina won’t overcharge you. The pool area is honestly where this place shines. It’s not huge, but it’s got these comfortable loungers and stays sunny most of the day. Perfect for recovering from wandering around Jemaa el-Fnaa in the heat (and trust me, you’ll need that recovery time).

The rooms are clean and well-maintained – I mean, it’s a solid 4-star, so you’re getting decent air conditioning, reliable WiFi, and bathrooms that actually have good water pressure. Nothing fancy, but everything works. The location is sort of perfect if you want to be close to the action without being in the thick of it. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the medina walls, 5 minutes from some decent restaurants in Gueliz, and there’s usually no problem getting a taxi or finding street parking if you’ve rented a car. Honestly, at a 7.4 rating, I think people might be expecting too much – this isn’t La Mamounia, but it’s not trying to be. It’s a comfortable, well-run hotel that lets you experience Marrakech without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the medina or the sterility of some of the big international chains. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, keep looking. But if you want a good night’s sleep, a decent breakfast, and a pool to cool off in after exploring the souks, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

  Anas has been incredibly helpful and professional from the day I arrived, treating me with respect. The other staff members were also exceptional, consistently going above and beyond. A special thanks to the lady who cleaned my room every morning, she did a fantastic job!
  
  The room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed, and was always kept clean. I really liked the location, very safe.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast was quite disappointing, with very few options available. For a 4-star hotel, the quality should be much better. Many of the coffee cups were chipped or not properly cleaned. As a result, I had to have breakfast outside the hotel.

  No shade at all as ALL of the sun umbrellas and gazebo were broken 😡 it was very dissapointed !
