The Little Hara Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of riads in Marrakech, and The Little Hara actually surprised me. Tucked away on Derb El Ouartani – which, honestly, you’ll never find without asking for directions at least twice – this place feels like stumbling into someone’s beautifully restored family home. The entrance is so discreet you could walk past it three times (I did), but once you’re inside, it’s this gorgeous traditional riad with that perfect courtyard setup where everything just… works.

The location in Mouassine is honestly ideal if you want to feel like you’re really in the medina without the tourist circus. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, but far enough that you won’t hear the drumming at night. The souks are right there – I mean, you can literally pop out for spices or textiles and be back in minutes. What I really loved is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. They’ll tell you which hammam to visit (skip the touristy ones), where to get the best tagine that won’t break the bank, and – this was clutch – they arranged a driver who knew all the back routes to avoid the medina traffic chaos.

The rooms themselves feel authentically Moroccan without being over-the-top themed, if that makes sense. Mine had this beautiful tadelakt bathroom that felt like a spa, and the bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in traditional riads). The courtyard gets this amazing light in the morning, and they serve breakfast there with proper Moroccan mint tea and fresh bread. I spent way too much time just sitting there reading. The rooftop terrace has decent Atlas Mountain views, though you’ll get better ones if you go up around sunset. One small thing – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but honestly, you’re in the medina… maybe that’s not the worst thing? The staff was incredibly helpful when I needed to print boarding passes and sort out logistics. Check-in was smooth, and they kept my bags when I arrived early, which saved my entire first day. For a four-star place, it punches way above its weight – that 9.8 rating isn’t just hype.

Everything! It exceeded our expectations. The place is absolutely beautiful, they pay attention to the smallest details like the smell of the place (it smells so nice!!). The staff went above and beyond for us. Ali, Hamza and the whole team, thank you so much! We're grateful for everything. Shkram 🙏

  • Excellent stay at a great location – Rahul from Netherlands – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

Excellent in every aspect. Centralized located with the walls of the market. Shops and restaurants all around however still quite for you to come back after a hectic day and relax.
Excellent Breakfast at the terrace every morning. Lots of choices in breakfast and we liked everything that was offered. We also took a tour to Essouira that was arranged by the Riad and it was very smooth. The hospitality of Ali and team is top notch.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Simonflower from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (10/10)

I booked The Little Hara for a 3 night trip with my father based on the high reviews.

We could not fault anything during our stay. Nothing was any trouble for the staff(Hamza,Ali & Jamal were all FANTASTIC), they were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

    Location and food were excellent.
    Extremely comfortable room and beds.

The properties high score is 100% justified.

The hotel is exceptional! The riad is lovely and very clean. The location is perfect and the breakfast is very good. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, they were happy to help with everything we needed and make sure we are comfortable at any time. They made our stay in Marrakech a great experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

  • Cute and clean Riad with exceptional staff – Ladan from United States – 26 May 2025 (10/10)

The staff and cleanness of the Riad were exceptional. The breakfast was very good. Ali, Jamal, Hamzah were wonderful people and very polite and kind. The Riad was in a great location. Close enough to the main street and less than 50 feet from the Souk. Our room got cleaned daily and the staff filled out the fruit bowl and replace a big water bottle. The Riad is very cozy and spotless. Great decoration, fantastic staff, comfortable room and delicious breakfast on the rooftop make this Riad exceptional!! The kitchen staff ladies are very nice! Ali, Jamal and Hamzah helped us with all the needs. When we come back to Marakech we will stay in this riad again.

What could be improved: We loved everything

  • Fantastic stay at Marrakech – Rui from Portugal – 14 May 2025 (10/10)

This Riad's location is perfect, very close to the souks (maybe 2/3 minutes by foot) and near (5m foot) to the one of the main roads in Marrakech. All staff was fantastic but Ali is superb with everything.
The rooms are fantastic, cleaning, and the photos from the rooms are the same as you will see in your room.
We requested for Airport to/from Riad transfer and Ali booked it. A mini-bus very clean, at a time, the motorist is very likeable.

What could be improved: Nothing to say.

  • Professionalism meets cosy comfort – Kitti from Hungary – 7 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything was absolutely exquisite , I don't understand how this riad is not ten out of ten. If you find a mistake you are either unlucky or just unrealistic. We stayed in multiple hotels in Morocco and Marrakesh and this was our favourite.
Everyone was very professional and nice. They helped us with all our needs. From arranging multiple shuttle, from carrying our luggage everything was on time, and done with a smile. They have this amazing mint tea, we had a very nice dinner and great breakfast in the hotel. No one pressured us for tips (like many other places). They were also attentive to my allergies. Again as a fellow hospitality worker and teacher it was textbook excellence.
