It sits right in the heart of Gueliz, which is Marrakech’s modern district, and I mean *right* in it – you’re literally surrounded by the kind of cafes and shops where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking selfies.

The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right between being in the action and giving you somewhere to actually rest. You know how some hotels in busy areas feel like you’re sleeping inside a nightclub? Well, this isn’t that. The rooms face inward mostly, so you get the energy of Gueliz without the 3 AM motorbike symphonies. And honestly, the rating of 9 makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the Royal Mansour (thank god, because who needs that pressure?), but everything just… works. The AC actually cools the room, the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the staff genuinely seems to care about whether you find that pharmacy you’ve been looking for.

What really sold me was the location intelligence – and I don’t mean that in a brochure way. You’re a two-minute walk from Avenue Mohammed V, which is where you’ll find the better restaurants that don’t immediately scream “tourist trap.” There’s this little place called Café du Livre just down the street where you can get proper coffee and French pastries, and the locals there will give you actual directions instead of trying to sell you a carpet. Plus, you can walk to the medina in about fifteen minutes, but more importantly, you can walk *back* when you’re exhausted and slightly overwhelmed by all the sensory overload. The taxis know exactly where Rue Mohammed el Beqal is, which sounds obvious but trust me, it’s not always a given in Marrakech.

The only thing I’d warn you about is that it’s not immediately obvious how to get in – ring the bell and someone will buzz you up. It felt a bit like visiting a friend’s apartment, which was actually kind of charming once I got used to it. The whole experience feels more like staying somewhere real rather than in a hotel bubble, if that makes sense. You’re in Morocco, not in some sanitized version of it.
