You know what caught me off guard about Touche Rouge Chic? The name sounds almost too fancy, but when you actually get there, it’s this perfectly balanced mix of sophisticated and lived-in that just works. I mean, it’s tucked away in what’s basically a residential building on GH 39 – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re not dealing with tour groups clogging up the lobby or that sterile hotel atmosphere where everything feels like it’s been focus-grouped to death.

The location is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’re close enough to the medina that you can walk there without needing a taxi every time (though let’s be real, you’ll probably grab one anyway when you’re loaded down with purchases from the souks), but far enough out that you can actually sleep at night. The building itself is modern Moroccan architecture – not trying too hard to be traditional but not completely generic either. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, which… well, if you’ve stayed in converted riads before, you know that’s not always a given. The staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, and the whole process took maybe ten minutes.

What really sold me on the place was how it handles the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The apartment-style setup means you’ve got space to spread out – there’s something about having a proper sitting area that isn’t just your bed that makes you feel less like you’re camping out. The kitchen situation is basic but functional if you want to grab some of those amazing oranges from the local markets and actually eat them somewhere other than standing on a street corner. And honestly, the air conditioning works properly, which in Marrakech during summer isn’t something you want to gamble on. I stayed there in May, and while it wasn’t peak heat season, you could tell the system was solid.

The neighborhood vibe is what you’d call “real Marrakech” – not the sanitized version you get in some of the resort areas. You’ll hear the call to prayer, sure, but also kids playing in the courtyard and the everyday sounds of people actually living their lives. There’s a little café about two blocks away where the coffee is better than anything you’ll find in the touristy spots, and the guy who runs it speaks just enough English to be helpful but not enough to make you feel like you’re in a theme park. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a car, but there’s usually something workable within a couple blocks – just don’t expect marked spaces and meters like you’re in downtown Denver or something.

The 8.9 rating makes sense to me. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it gets the fundamentals right and adds enough character that you remember it fondly. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality while still having reliable Wi-Fi and hot water, it’s honestly a solid choice.

  Allem voran die Freundlichkeit und Zuverlässigkeit des Gastgebers. Durch eine von uns falsch angegebene Telefonnummer waren wir nicht direkt erreichbar. Vor Ort haben wir einen Nachbarn gebeten, den Gastgeber anzurufen, und alles wurde gut. Soheib war sehr bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen, zumal wir durch eine Erkältung etwas eingeschränkt waren.
  Die Wohnung liegt in einer relativ ruhigen Wohngegend von Marrakesch. Parken war kein Problem, so dass das Auto ruhig stehen bleiben kann. Mit dem Bus lässt sich das Zentrum gut erreichen.
  Leider war die Wohnung nicht für eine 2. Nacht verfügbar. Soheib bemühte sich, uns privat unterzubringen. Seine Mutter versorgte uns darüberhinaus mit einem leckeren Couscous.
  Von Marrakesch aus machten wir eine 3tägige Wüstentour. Da die Wohnung auch nach unserer Rückkehr ausgebucht war, haben wir eine andere Unterkunft gebucht. Als wir bis zum Abend keine Rückmeldung vom Gastgeber bekamen, haben wir uns an Soheib gewandt und ihn gebeten, für uns anzurufen. Als auch das nicht half und es schon später am Abend war, hat er uns angeboten, in seiner Privatwohnung zu übernachten. Das war eine sehr große Entlastung für uns. Vielen herzlichen Dank!

  L’appartement est situé dans un quartier calme, à proximité de l’aéroport, ce qui a été un critère décisif pour moi lors de mon séjour. Le propriétaire est extrêmement aimable et professionnel, toujours disponible, de l’arrivée au départ, et prêt à intervenir en cas de besoin. Je le recommande vivement.

  J'ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement. L'endroit est très sécurisé, l'appartement est impeccable et très propre. Le propriétaire est extrêmement gentil et l'entrée automatique facilite vraiment l'accès. Tout s'est déroulé parfaitement bien. Je recommande vivement cet appartement, surtout pour ceux qui cherchent un endroit calme avec un parking disponible et une grande sécurité. Je n'hésiterai pas à revenir !
