You’re actually in Douar Belaarbi, this quiet residential area that feels authentically Moroccan without the tourist circus.

What really got me was how the staff here just… knows things. Like, they’ll casually mention the best time to hit the souks (early morning, before the cruise ship crowds descend) or which taxi drivers to avoid. The whole vibe is relaxed in a way that surprised me – I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the evening call to prayer, but far enough out that you can actually sleep without scooters honking all night. The rooms have this understated elegance thing going on, nothing flashy, but everything works and feels thoughtfully put together. The beds are properly comfortable too, which honestly isn’t always a given in Morocco.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location gives you the best of both worlds. Yeah, you need a petit taxi to get into the medina proper (about 15 minutes, maybe 20 in traffic), but that drive through the newer parts of Marrakech? It’s actually pretty interesting, and you’ll save a fortune compared to those riads right in the thick of things. Plus, there’s something to be said for being able to retreat to this calm bubble after a day of navigating the intensity of the old city. The pool area becomes your sanctuary, especially during those brutally hot afternoon hours when even the locals are taking siestas. I found myself spending way more time there than I expected, just decompressing with a mint tea and watching the light change on the Atlas Mountains in the distance. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it absolutely nails what it is: a genuinely comfortable, well-run spot where you can experience real Marrakech without feeling like you’re performing in someone else’s travel Instagram story.

  Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour dans cette villa familiale où nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous. Le grand jardin et la mosquée juste en face sont de vrais atouts. Le quartier est calme, sûr et loin du bruit de la ville, ce qui est très appréciable pour se reposer. Le propriétaire est très gentil : il nous a accueillis chaleureusement avec du thé et des gâteaux marocains, un geste qui nous a beaucoup touchés. La villa, ainsi que la piscine, étaient très grandes et propres. Le petit déjeuner est simple, mais bon. Nous recommandons sans hésiter !
  
  What could be improved: Dommage que le frigo et le four n'était pas propre.
  Un peu éloigné du centre.
  Il manquait un micro ondes et nous avons dû acheter notre propre papier WC car il n'y en avait pas.

  La villa est très belle comme sur les photos, le propriétaire est au petit soin et tres accueillant. Il nous a proposé le thé et des gâteaux en arrivant.
  La villa est très propre et la piscine grande et plus profonde qu’il n’y paraît.

  My wife and I took a risk and were the first to book a newly uploaded Airbnb that had no reviews. But we were beyond impressed with how beautiful and clean this place was. As a Muslim couple the privacy of the villa and swimming pool was the highlight of our stay and we thoroughly enjoyed spending our days sitting in the garden without worry that people would disturb or see us. Khalid served us a beautiful breakfast every morning, put new towels out and made sure that the house was cleaned. The detail to cleanliness was very important to us and we felt at home the entire time. The neighbourhood was very quiet and peaceful and we would highly recommend this villa to any couples looking to have some alone time together. Khalid was an extremely kind and welcoming host!

  L’endroit est propre et fonctionnel, pour la piscine elle est bien traité et propre, sans vis à vis, le petit déjeuner est un plus ! au niveau du personnel rien à dire 10/10 ! Je vous conseil d’y séjourner !

  L’hôte était vraiment super gentil et accueillant. Le logement était propre, bien situé et très confortable. Le petit-déjeuner était simple mais très bon.
