You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to this villa – I mean, it’s sitting about 4 kilometers out on the route de Tahanaout, which honestly feels like you’re heading into the countryside rather than staying in Marrakech proper. But that’s actually the whole point, and once you get it, you really get it.

The location is sort of brilliant if you think about it. You’re far enough from the medina madness that you can actually hear yourself think (and sleep without earplugs), but close enough that a petit taxi ride into Jemaa el-Fnaa only takes about fifteen minutes when traffic’s cooperating. The villa itself has this authentic riad feel – you walk through these heavy wooden doors and suddenly you’re in this peaceful courtyard with orange trees and the sound of water trickling from a fountain. It’s one of those places where the photos don’t lie, which is refreshing. The rooms are spacious with traditional Moroccan tiles and carved plasterwork, though I’ll be honest, the WiFi can be spotty in some of the ground floor rooms – not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you’re planning to work remotely.

What really won me over was the staff and the whole vibe of the place. The manager, Hassan, knows the area like the back of his hand and actually gave me better restaurant recommendations than my guidebook (definitely hit up the little place he suggests in Gueliz if you want proper tagine without tourist prices). The pool area is where you’ll probably spend your mornings – it’s got this view toward the Atlas Mountains that’s particularly stunning when the light hits just right around 8 AM. They serve breakfast poolside, and while it’s not fancy, the fresh orange juice and msemen pancakes hit the spot. Parking’s never an issue here, which is a huge relief if you’re planning day trips to the mountains or out to Essaouira. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s solidly good without being flashy, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The only minor thing is that dinner service can be slow when they’re busy, but honestly, you’re in Morocco – embrace the pace and order another mint tea.

  Decor was amazing, everything was commutable from the villa and easy to get to. The owner who I spoke with regularly was brilliant and helpful throughout the stay.

  Belle villa, les espaces communs sont agréables et bien aménagés (salon, salle a manger, cuisine). L'extérieur est agréable

  Dommage que le mobilier soit un peu bancal dans les chambres. La déco est. Qualitative au rdc mais un peu brouillon a l'étage, ça reste confortable mais moins esthétique.

  What could be improved: The stay overall is nice if you are looking for a nice quiet stay away from the busy central areas. It may be a wise idea to rent a car or take up the option from the hosts who can provide you with driver.

  The property itself was beautiful, clean and huge. The pool was lovely for the children and was cleaned regular. Beds large and comfy.
  
  The host Sarah was a blessing, she communicated well with us and sorted out little teeething problems, such as access to Netflix and when the internet went down. She also ordered us a take away which was delivered to us direct. She was so helpful and was always prompt in her response.
  
  We chose to have a housekeeper come in who made us food and and teas and cleaned. The food was really delicious I’m the evenings and the breakfast was a typical Moroccan breakfast, but you could ask for anything. You wanted.
  
  The security is very good on site.
  
  What could be improved: The WiFi was sketchy on the first floor.

  This place was amazing . Extremely clean . Everything you need for home away from home. The kids loved it. What you see on the picture is what you get. Will need transport to get about .Sarah the owner was amazing helped us with everything. 100% will be back next year.
