Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from another riad-style place, but this one actually surprised me. The moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you. The garden is what gets you first – it’s not just decorative palms and fake fountain vibes, but actual mature olive trees and jasmine that fills the evening air with this incredible scent. The pool sits right in the center, and I mean, it’s not Olympic-sized or anything, but it’s perfectly proportioned for the space and stays refreshingly cool even during those brutal afternoon hours when Marrakech heat hits different.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know the city – not just the tourist spots everyone pushes. The guy at reception (I think his name was Youssef) gave me directions to this little spice market that’s tucked away from the main Jemaa el-Fnaa crowds, and he was spot-on about the timing too. He said go around 4 PM when the vendors are setting up for evening but aren’t swamped yet. The rooms themselves feel authentic without being stuffy – there’s this gorgeous tilework that looks hand-done, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places here sacrifice comfort for atmosphere). My room faced the garden, which meant I could hear the fountain trickling at night instead of street noise, though honestly, even the street-facing rooms seemed pretty quiet since this area doesn’t get the late-night party crowd.

The breakfast spread was solid – proper Moroccan breads, fresh orange juice that actually tastes like oranges, and they make this mint tea that’s somehow perfectly sweet without being cloying. I spent most mornings just sitting by the pool with my coffee, watching the light change on the Atlas Mountains in the distance. You can actually see them from the rooftop terrace, which is something the photos don’t really capture. The location works really well if you want to explore but also retreat – it’s maybe a 15-minute walk to the medina proper, but you’re not dealing with the constant hassle of vendors and motorbikes that comes with staying right in the thick of things. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which matters if you’re planning day trips to places like Essaouira or the Ourika Valley. I mean, for a four-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of that personal touch you usually only get at smaller guesthouses. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to spend time at the hotel, not just crash between sightseeing marathons.

  Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel dans cette villa ! Le personnel était tout simplement au top, toujours aux petits soins et d’une grande gentillesse. L’emplacement est idéal, proche de tout, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable. La maison était impeccable : propre, confortable et parfaitement équipée. Un grand merci à Abdelatif, toujours disponible, attentif et à l’écoute de nos besoins. Et que dire de Nouhaila… incroyable ! Son sourire, sa bienveillance et surtout ses petits-déjeuners délicieux ont vraiment marqué notre expérience. Merci encore pour tout !
