You know what struck me first about Villa Jude? It’s tucked away in this quiet residential corner of Golf Amelkis that most tourists never see – honestly, I almost missed it even with GPS because the signage is pretty subtle. But that’s actually part of its charm. The property sits in La O’Liveraie, which locals just call “the olive grove area,” and you can tell why the moment you walk through the gates. There’s this immediate sense of being somewhere special, away from the chaos of the medina but still distinctly Marrakech.

The villa itself feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a typical hotel – I mean that in the best way possible. The rooms have this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake, with traditional tadelakt walls that stay cool even during those brutal afternoon hours when the sun’s beating down. What really got me was the attention to details you don’t usually notice until they’re missing elsewhere: proper water pressure (thank god), blackout curtains that actually block the light, and – this might sound weird – but the Wi-Fi reaches every corner of the property. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which makes such a difference in how your days unfold.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to appreciate: you’re about a 15-minute drive from Jemaa el-Fnaa, which sounds inconvenient until you realize it means you can actually sleep at night without the constant drumming and street noise. The Golf Amelkis area has this network of narrow roads lined with beautiful villas, and in the evenings you’ll hear the call to prayer echoing differently here – softer, more contemplative somehow. There’s a little café about five minutes’ walk away where locals grab their morning coffee, and the owner, Mohammed, makes the best msemen I’ve had outside of someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. The hotel can arrange airport transfers, but honestly, I’d recommend having them sort out a driver for day trips too – navigating back here after a long day exploring can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the area. One small thing: the pool area gets pretty busy around 2 PM when families with kids tend to arrive, so if you’re looking for quiet swimming, mornings are your best bet. But even when it’s lively, there’s something really nice about the energy – you feel like you’re part of something authentic rather than just another tourist passing through.

  What could be improved: La ubicación es algo lejana de la medina a unos 17 minutos pero hay que contar que siempre debes esperar a taxis que lleguen a recogerte lo que ralentizará los desplazamientos para hacer visitas .
