You know what caught me off guard about Villa Royal? The moment you pull up to this place in Ouahat Sidi Brahim, it actually feels like you’re arriving at someone’s incredibly wealthy friend’s house rather than a hotel. I mean, the whole Lot Annour area is pretty residential and quiet – you’re away from the chaos of the medina but still close enough that you can hear the call to prayer echoing across the palmeraie in the early morning.

The private pool situation is honestly what sold me completely. It’s not some tiny plunge pool they’re trying to pass off as luxury – this is a proper swimming pool where you can actually do laps if you want, surrounded by these gorgeous tiled areas that stay cool even when the Marrakech sun is absolutely brutal. The spa setup is integrated right into the villa in this really thoughtful way, and I have to say, after spending days walking through the souks, having someone come to you for a hammam treatment instead of trekking to a crowded spa in Gueliz was pretty incredible. The VIP concierge thing isn’t just marketing fluff either – they actually know the city well enough to get you into places like La Mamounia for drinks without the usual tourist runaround, and they helped me arrange a proper cooking class with a local family (not one of those hotel demo things).

What really makes this place special, though, is how it sits in the landscape. You’re technically in the city, but the villa has these high walls and mature olive trees that create this incredible sense of privacy. The Atlas Mountains are visible from the rooftop terrace, especially gorgeous at sunset, and honestly, after a day of navigating the intensity of Marrakech – the motorcycles, the vendors, the sensory overload – coming back to this quiet sanctuary feels like exhaling. The staff treats it like their own home, which makes sense because it really does feel more like a private residence than a hotel. Check-in was literally just sitting down for mint tea while someone took care of everything. The only thing I’d mention is that you’ll want a taxi or car to get around – it’s about a 15-minute ride to Jemaa el-Fnaa, but that distance is actually a blessing when you want to escape the tourist crowds and just float in your own pool with a book.

  Un séjour inoubliable !
  Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cette villa. Tout était parfait : la propreté, le confort, la décoration soignée et surtout l’accueil chaleureux des hôtes. La piscine et le jardin sont encore plus beaux que sur les photos, un vrai coin de paradis pour se détendre. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Merci pour tout !
