I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Villa Serenity & SPA in the Kawtar development near Bab Aouda, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. You know how it is with newer properties in Marrakech, especially ones tucked away in residential areas rather than right in the medina chaos. But honestly? This place surprised me in the best possible way.

The thing about this location is that you’re actually getting the best of both worlds here. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Jemaa el-Fnaa (which, let’s be real, can be a blessing when you want to sleep past sunrise), but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The taxi drivers know the Kawtar area well, and I mean, when you’re paying what you’d pay for a decent riad in the medina but getting modern amenities and that gorgeous spa… well, it’s kind of a no-brainer. The breakfast situation alone – and I’m picky about breakfast – actually makes you want to wake up early. They’ve got this mix of Moroccan and international options that feels thoughtful rather than just thrown together, and the coffee? Thank god, it’s proper coffee.

What really got me was how quiet it is here at night. I’ve stayed in places in Gueliz where the traffic never stops, and don’t get me started on some of those medina riads where you hear every conversation in the courtyard. But this spot in Bab Aouda – you actually sleep. The rooms have this clean, uncluttered feel that somehow manages to be elegant without trying too hard, and the air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in summer). The spa facilities are honestly impressive for a 4-star property – I’ve been to 5-star places in the city center with less thoughtful wellness setups. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing, and they’re not constantly hovering or pushing expensive treatments on you.

I keep coming back to that 9 rating because it makes sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Marrakech, but everything just… works. The WiFi is reliable, the parking is straightforward (which anyone who’s driven in Marrakech will appreciate), and check-in was refreshingly smooth. You know what I mean – no drama, no mysterious extra fees, just professional service without the stuffiness. If you’re someone who wants to experience Marrakech without dealing with the sensory overload 24/7, this is your spot. You can venture into the medina when you want that authentic chaos, then retreat back to this peaceful bubble when you need to recharge.

  I was amazed by the facilities, I went with a group of friends and we truly enjoyed our time, the facilities were clean, the air conditioning was very much appreciated, the staff were really nice and professional, the shutters in the bedrooms were a really good addition and the housekeeper (Hakima) was really kind and sweet and she was extremely professional as well. The host Mohammed made the check in process very smooth and responded to anything we wanted immediately and dealt with it.

  La gentillesse de Akima, l’appartement en général est vraiment super.
  
  What could be improved: Présence d’une décharge sauvage juste à côté qui provoque une quantité invraisemblable de mouche. Le voisinage réalise des travaux h24 et la propreté de la piscine n’est pas excellente, beaucoup d’algues.

  La villa est tout simplement incroyable ! Elle est propre, agréable et sent bon. Les chambres sont spacieuses , le lit est confortable et la cuisine est bien équipée. Hakima, la cuisinière, nous a préparé un excellent petit déjeuner. Je suis convaincu que notre séjour n'aurait pas été le même sans cette villa. De plus, le chauffage dans toutes les pièces était très appréciable, surtout à cette période où il fait frais à Marrakech. Et l'eau chaude dans les douches était vraiment géniale ! Proche de tout les endroits touristiques notamment la place Jemma El fna, les taxis trouvent facilement la villa.

  Magnifique villa mais malheureusement l'environnement n'est vraiment pas top et hors de toute livraison de nourriture
  Heureusement la maison est tenue par Akima qui est d'une gentillesse extrême
  Ses petits déjeuners sont délicieux et elle est tellement serviable 20/20 pour Akima
  
  What could be improved: Quand nous sommes arrivés 30 minutes de retard du taxi réservé aux prés de la villa
  En arrivant nous sommes restés 45 mn dehors car pas de courant dans la villa
  Au prix de la prestation j'ai trouvé ça très moyen et nous aurions apprécié au moins un mot d'excuse

  La villa est très propre et agréable. La servante est très serviable, gentille et ponctuelle. Le petit déjeuner est copieu. Adapté au goût des touristes.
  
  What could be improved: La literie est à revoir. La villa se trouve un peu loin des magasins mais nous trouvons facilement des taxis à pas chère.
