Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Vizir 301 on Route de Casablanca, I wasn’t expecting much. The street itself is pretty busy (you know how Marrakech traffic can be), but once you step inside, it’s like someone hit the mute button on the city chaos. The lobby has this really thoughtful mix of traditional Moroccan touches without going overboard on the tourist trap aesthetic – I mean, you’ll still get those beautiful geometric patterns and warm lighting, but it feels authentic rather than performative.

What actually surprised me most was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Jemaa el-Fnaa without dealing with the main tourist drag, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward Avenue Mohammed V like most places do – he actually sketched out this little route through some quieter side streets that locals use. Takes about fifteen minutes on foot, and you end up seeing parts of the medina that most visitors completely miss. The rooms themselves are solid – nothing fancy, but the air conditioning works properly (crucial during those brutal summer months), and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get at four-star places here. I stayed in one of the upper floor rooms, and honestly, the view isn’t spectacular, but you get this nice glimpse of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, especially in the morning before the haze sets in.

Here’s the thing that really won me over though – the little details that show someone’s actually paying attention. The bathroom had proper water pressure (if you’ve traveled around Morocco, you know this isn’t a given), and they stock these locally-made toiletries that smell like argan oil without being overwhelming. Breakfast was surprisingly good too – yeah, you get the standard continental stuff, but they also had proper Moroccan bread, fresh orange juice that’s actually fresh, and this really excellent msemen that the cook makes fresh each morning. I ended up chatting with her one day, and she told me she’s been perfecting the recipe for twenty years. You can tell. The location is honestly perfect if you want to be close to everything but not right in the middle of the madness. You’re about ten minutes from the souks by taxi, maybe twenty on foot if you don’t mind the walk, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant honking and crowds right outside your window. There’s decent parking too, which matters if you’re planning to rent a car and explore outside the city – Atlas day trips are totally doable from here. I’d definitely come back, especially since the rates are pretty reasonable for what you get. It’s not going to blow your mind, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well without any drama.

  Super appartement pour un groupe d'amis ou une famille. Je me sentais en sécurité et les gardes à la porte étaient sympathiques. L'appartement disposait de tout l'équipement. Le propriétaire était très gentil et a bien communiqué avec nous. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour et le recommandons à tout le monde.

  L'appartement est propre , confortable et joliment meublé- sécurisé 24h/7) – personnel sympathique – la piscine pour femme est un atout, j'ai beaucoup aimé et vraiment tous est génial! sans oublié de remercier l'hôte M. Ali
