Yacouta Riad and Spa Overview
You know what really struck me about Yacouta Riad and Spa? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on DB Tbib street, you’re suddenly in this completely different world — I mean, one second you’re dodging motorbikes and navigating the maze of Arset El Messeoui, and the next you’re standing in this gorgeous courtyard that honestly feels like someone’s private palace. The contrast is pretty incredible, and that’s sort of the magic of staying in a proper riad right in the heart of the medina.
The location is actually perfect if you want to really experience Marrakech. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa — close enough that you can pop back for a quick rest between exploring, but far enough that you won’t hear the drummers and storytellers all night (trust me, this matters). The staff really knows their stuff about getting around too. They’ll tell you which alleys to take to avoid the tourist crowds, and honestly, their directions are way better than any GPS in this part of town. The spa side of things is what really sets this place apart though. I’ve stayed at plenty of riads, but the hammam here is exceptional — they use traditional black soap and the whole experience feels authentic, not like some watered-down tourist version. The massage therapists actually know what they’re doing, and the products they use smell incredible… sort of like orange blossom and argan oil, but more complex.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the practical stuff. Check-in was smooth (they even sent someone to meet us at the nearest spot our taxi could reach), the WiFi actually works throughout the property, and the rooms stay surprisingly cool even during the day — which matters in Marrakech, believe me. The breakfast situation is solid too, served in that beautiful central courtyard where you can watch the light change as the morning progresses. It’s traditional Moroccan fare but done really well, with fresh bread and local honey that tastes nothing like what you get at home. The only thing I’d mention is that some rooms can feel a bit dark during the day since traditional riads don’t have huge windows, but that’s kind of the authentic experience, and honestly, it keeps things cool. The 8.9 rating makes complete sense to me — it’s the kind of place that gets the big things right while paying attention to small details that actually matter when you’re traveling.

Stunning – Ryan from United Kingdom – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: None to reportSuperb – Ildikó from Hungary – 3 July 2025 (9/10)
Riad is very good, but the location is not the best.
Exceptional – Daina from United States – 29 June 2025 (10/10)
I had a fantastic stay, the atmosphere was peaceful and beautifully authentic, with stunning Moroccan décor throughout. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. My room was spotless and comfortable, and the spa treatments were absolutely relaxing, just what I needed. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind and experience real Moroccan hospitality.
What could be improved: All GoodMo is amazing! He helped with everything and I would recommend speaking to him before booking any excursions.he can get – Tim from Poland – 26 June 2025 (10/10)
Very comfortable and beautifully decorated
Exceptional – Marta from United Arab Emirates – 25 June 2025 (10/10)
The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive, making guests feel like royalty.
What could be improved: While the breakfast options are good, the serving time is a bit inconvenient for my schedule. Fortunately, the packed breakfasts provided as an alternative are a pleasant compromise.Wonderful – L from United Kingdom – 21 June 2025 (10/10)
A hidden gem in the heart of Marrakech. The riad is beautifully designed, the rooms are comfortable, and the service is outstanding. It was the perfect escape from the busy city. Would definitely return
What could be improved: Absolutely NothingExceptional Stay at Riad Yacouta and Spa – Tudor from Romania – 18 June 2025 (10/10)
The team at Riad Yacouta and Spa goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable stay. From arranging excursions to providing personalized recommendations, their hospitality is exemplary.
Ideally situated, the riad is within walking distance to key attractions like Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Majorelle Garden. Its location allows guests to immerse themselves in the local culture while enjoying a peaceful retreat.
What could be improved: All GoodChilled and relaxed, great staff, friendly and could not do enough for you – Kimberley from United Kingdom – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
Very good location, loved the whole place and the decor. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the scent in the air from the oil burners really evoked Marrakesh, fleur d’orange
What could be improved: I think other guests didn’t have to bang around so much, the traditional locks on the doors made it difficult though but it wasn’t that bad to be honest. The terrace needs more sun beds, could fit at least two more given there are 13 rooms. The small pool on the terrace could also be cleaned more often however that being said, it really was just two people who made it like that in the short time they were there. I am sure if I had said something, the staff would have cleaned it.
More coat hangers were needed and potentially a more varied menu. Again though what they did have on the menu was amazing. Lemon chicken tagine was my absolute favourite
Overall though a really lovely stay and I would highly recommendSuperb – Raquel from Portugal – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
Riad well located in the centre of the old town and very helpful staff.
